Pioneer Cardiac Surgeon Dies

On 9 September 2005, Dr. Andrew Logan died. A pioneer in cardiothoracic Surgery, he was best known for his part in developing a transventricular dilator used in the closed approach for treatment for mitral stenosis. His dilator is still used in many underdeveloped countries today.
