Michael E. DeBakey

It is with heavy heart that CTSNet notes the passing of one of the greatest surgeons of all time. Michael E. De Bakey. He  died quietly at 9:38 p.m. Friday, July 11 from natural causes at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, just short of his hundredth birthday. In a professional career that spanned 70 years he managed to pack several lifetimes of work. He will be missed the world over, by physicians and patients alike. His long-time colleague, Dr Gerald M. Lawrie, will write a tribute to the life of Dr. DeBakey for CTSNet.
