Now Accepting Abstracts & Case Videos for the 93rd AATS Annual Meeting

The American Association for Thoracic Surgery is now accepting Abstracts and Case Videos for the 93rd Annual Meeting to be held in Minneapolis, MN, USA at the Minneapolis Convention Center from May 4 - 8, 2013. You and your colleagues are strongly encouraged to submit Abstracts or Case Videos of original work for consideration as part of the scientific program.

Abstract Submissions will be accepted within the following areas:

  • Regular Session (Plenary and Simultaneous Session):
    • Adult Cardiac
    • Congenital
    • General Thoracic
    • New in 2013Perioperative Care: This category will consist of presentations that address perioperative evaluation and management including, but not limited to perioperative imaging and assessment, intraoperative hemodynamic and pharmacologic interventions, postoperative management protocols, and evidence-based trials of critical care pathways and short-term cardiopulmonary support.

  • C. Walton Lillehei Resident Forum
  • Emerging Technologies
  • Laboratory Research Forum

New in 2013Case Videos: The AATS has expanded its abstract program to include Case Videos that will offer additional cutting edge research through video presentations. Case Videos may focus on novel procedures, techniques, difficult problems, interesting cases, etc. Case Videos should highlight a conceptual approach and surgical techniques. These Case Videos will be scored within the appropriate category (Adult, Congenital, and General Thoracic).  When submitting a Case Video, you MUST submit an abstract with a maximum of 2,500 characters via the Abstract and Case Video submission site.  Case Videos may not exceed 10 minutes in length.  Live narration in English is mandatory for all accepted Case Videos.  Case Videos may be supplemented with several incorporated slides summarizing indications, results, and follow-up. Accepted Case Videos will be viewed in the AATS Learning Center which will be located on the Exhibit Hall floor.

Case Video Submissions will be accepted within the following categories:

  • Adult Cardiac
  • Congenital
  • General Thoracic
  • Other
