Invitation to Participate in CALGB TrialDr. Nasser K. Altorki, The New York Hospital and Cornell Medical Center, New York, NY USA, writes: CALGB has recently activated a randomized trial comparing lobectomy with limited resection for small (2 cm or less) peripheral NSCLC that is node-negative. It calls for randomizing nearly 900 patients. It was endorsed by all the co-operative groups, including AGOSOG and NCI-Canada. Unfortunately, accrual has been slow, and we would like to raise awareness of the trial since it is likely, when completed, to be an important contribution." To those interested in participating, he writes: "A large randomized trial of lobectomy versus sublobar resection for early stage NSCLC has been activated throughout the US and Canada. Read the Trial Proposal, and see how you can participate." Published: 10-April-2008
