Christian Etz of the Herzzentrum Leipzig in Germany discusses spinal cord protection during thoracoabdominal aortic procedures. He presents a noninvasive approach to monitor oxygenation of the spinal blood supply. He also discusses a trial for a procedure to prevent postoperative paraplegia.
