UK Mini Mitral Trial

Thursday, January 10, 2019

Akowuah E. UK Mini Mitral Trial. January 2019. doi:10.25373/ctsnet.7548992.

Enoch Akowuah of the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough, UK, discusses key aspects of the UK Mini Mitral Trial and sets the scene for a debate on median sternotomy versus minithoracotomy for degenerative mitral valve disease. The UK Mini Mitral trial is a randomized multicenter trial that will evaluate speed of recovery and cost effectiveness, among other outcomes, for the two surgical approaches.
