For the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, the SurgiFrost®/FrostByte™ cryoablation system is the only surgical cardiac ablation option that can complete all lesions Pulmonary Vein Isolation (PVI) to MAZE III with a single product and one energy source. And the versatility of the system makes it adaptable to any procedure or surgical approach – epicardially or endocardially – on or off-pump.

Cryotherapy involves the employment of extremely cold temperatures to ablate specific tissue while leaving underlying connective tissues largely unaffected. This allows the cardiac surgeon to encircle the pulmonary veins with lines of scar tissue to block transmission of erratic electrical signals that trigger atrial fibrillation (atrial fib). The advantage of cryotherapy over heat-based therapies is that freezing preserves tissue integrity and minimizes the risk of endocardial thrombus associated with heat-based sources.1
The SurgiFrost®/FrostByte Cryoablation System consists of:
SurgiFrost® Probe
Flexible and easy to maneuver probe can be configured to desired lengths to produce ideal ablation lines.
FrostByte™ Clamp
Designed to secure the contact point between the cryoablation probe segment and the cardiac tissue, thereby improving effectiveness and reducing procedure time.
The CryoSurgery Console
Convenient, flexible and intuitive, the CryoSurgery Console is the control center for SurgiFrost® cryoprobes.
