INSTITUTIONS ACCEPTING EACTS TRAVELLING FELLOWS

EACTS Council has decided to offer a limited number of travelling fellowships to cardio-thoracic surgeons wishing to further their education in one or several institutions of their choice in Europe. The stipend is 3’000 € and the fellows are free to choose among the institutions proposed by the EACTS. The Council expects the institutions accepting EACTS fellows to meet most or at least some of the criteria specified below:

• Head of the institution should be a member of the EACTS.
• Institution should have teaching experience.
• Administration should be able to arrange visa and work permit for the fellows.
• Fellows should have access to low-cost board and lodging.
• Head of the training program should specify the teaching opportunities which his institution will be offering.
• Fellows should be able to obtain first-hand surgical experience (assist during procedures).

International Cooperation Committee is looking for institutions which are willing to accept travelling fellows for this program; an E-Mail reply to the undersigned, indicating readiness and addressing the issues raised in this document, is sufficient. At the completion of the fellowship period, a short assessment of the fellowship should be submitted to the Committee.
