Within cardiothoracic surgery, the da Vinci Surgical System may be used in general non-cardiovascular thoracoscopic procedures and thoracoscopically-assisted cardiotomy procedures. The system can also be employed with adjunctive mediastinotomy to perform coronary anastomosis during cardiac revascularization.
