The Octopus(R)3 tissue stabilizer is enabling suction technology that set the standard for tissue stabilization. You choose the positioner option that best meets your needs. Both the Starfish(TM)2 and Urchin(TM) heart positioners provide excellent access to target coronaries. Both positioners have an innovative turret design that increases effective arm reach which dramatically increases positioning options with 360 degree movement.
PRODUCT FEATURES
- The Octopus(R)3 device features malleable stablizer pods that can be formed to the unique contours of the patient''s anatomy.
- A unique tissue spreading mechanism enhances stabilization of the anastomotic site and presentation of the coronary.
- The split-ball headlinke maximizes stabilizer pod flexibility with 0-90+ degree articulation.
- The StarfishTM2 and Urchin(TM) heart positioners:
1. Provide enhanced access to lateral wall with "off-apex" position.
2. Optimize peformance of tissue stabilizer. 3. Minimize hemodynamic deterioration associated with beating heart manipulation when compared with deep pericardial sutures (ref).
4. Offer flexible, low-profile mounting options with turret design.
- The Starfish(TM)2 features a multi-appendage silicone suction cup with a smaller profile that enhances visulization. Utilizes
-400 mmHg. The Urchin(TM) device has a silicone suction apparatus that provides immediate tissue capture. Utilizes -250 mmHg.
- Both positioners share the following features:
1. New swivel headlink greatly increases positioning options; maintains more natural bellows position.
2. High-flow tubing allows easier positioning after attachment to the heart. 3. Innovative turret design mentioned previously.
4 Smaller color-coded whale-tail provides minimal obstruction.
