CTSNet Remembers Floyd Loop, MD

CTSNet is saddened to announce the death of Floyd Loop, MD. Dr. Loop passed away on June 11. He was 78. During the course of his distinguished career, Dr. Loop performed over 12,000 cardiac surgeries and authored more than 350 papers on topics in cardiovascular surgery. From 1989 to 2004, Dr. Loop served as chairman and CEO of the Cleveland Clinic, and was credited with cementing that institution’s international reputation of excellence. Dr. Loop was an active leader in the specialty, and served as President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (1997-98).
