Highlights from the STS 52nd Annual Meeting

STS 52nd Annual Meeting attendees are looking forward to exciting talks this morning by two distinguished lecturers, as well as the 2016 awards presentation. The Ethics Debate will tackle an important topic—whether surgeons should accept advance directives that may limit postoperative care—and 16 educational sessions will be offered in the afternoon.

Whether you are with the Society in Phoenix or couldn’t make this year’s Annual Meeting, you can peruse the Tuesday/Wednesday edition of the STS Meeting Bulletin, now available online. The Society’s official meeting newspaper covers highlights such as:

  • Recap of STS President Mark S. Allen’s Presidential Address, given yesterday morning;
  • Previews of today’s Thomas B. Ferguson and C. Walton Lillehei Lectures, featuring former NASA astronaut Scott Parazynski, MD and best-selling science journalist Gary Taubes;
  • A feature on the Society’s 2016-2017 President Joseph E. Bavaria, MD, who was elected last night by the STS membership;
  • The recipient of the Society’s Distinguished Service Award for 2016;
  • And much more!

Don’t forget: Those not attending the meeting can purchase access to STS Annual Meeting Online at 50% off post-meeting pricing until Wednesday, January 27.
