Video Submission Instructions

General Instructions

Every submission, must include a cover letter and a Conditions for Publication Form signed by all authors. The cover letter should include:

  • Title
  • Authors–List all authors including for each:  first name, family name, highest academic degree, institutional affiliaton (including department if applicable), city, state, and country
  • Corresponding Author–Provide the name, postal address with zip or postal code, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address of the author to whom communications should be directed

Your material must contain no specific patient information and be HIPPA compliant. For example, patient name or hospital identification number should not appear on radiographs, slides, or film contained in a video.

For each copyrighted/previously published item (artist illustrations, images from books, cartoons, etc.) you must obtain written permission from the publisher.

The signed Conditions for Publication Form, permission letters and other supplemental material should accompany the video disk. Send the video and related documents to:

Videos

Videos submitted to CTSNet should not be longer than 10 minutes, and must be accompanied by voice narration.

Video is not an appropriate format for slideshows without embeded video content. Video should be used for content such as surgical procedures.

CTSNet can accept video submissions in a variety of different formats.  Both 4:3 and 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratios are acceptable. The videos must be good quality and their size should be at least 640 by 480 (704 by 396 for widescreen.)

MOV (Apple QuickTime Movie)
MPEG (MPEG Video File)
AVI (Audio Video Interleave File)

Flash Video (.flv)
DVD video format (DVD-R only, not DVD-RW)

Not Accepted

RealVideo format
VHS or Mini-DV tape

Once received, your video will be converted into Flash Video format for presentation on CTSNet.
