Off Pump Coronary Bypass Debriefing

The Off Pump Coronary Bypass (OPCAB) team of the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven presents a debriefing exercise of your OPCAB procedures versus their standard operating procedures. The exercise is divided into two intervals. The first is the "conditioning interval." It prepares the patient for the impact of manipulation and possibility of ischaemia during graft construction. The second is the "anastomotic interval," which begins at the time of the first anastomosis and finishes at the completion of the last.

The American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), the European Association for Cardio-thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), through this Continuing Medical Education (CME) site, provide journal subscribers a way to fulfill their CME requirements, at their convenience, by online self-study and testing based on selected journal articles. Activities associated with The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and The Annals of Thoracic Surgery are sponsored by and designated for CME credit by the AATS and STS, respectively.
