The CTSNet Clinical Cases Section was developed to highlight brief clinical case presentations by residents-in-training and practicing cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons. The advantage of an internet-based case presentation includes the ease of accessibility and the benefits of multi-media presentations. Unlike printed manuscripts, this section will be able to highlight color pictures, operative videos, echocardiograms, cardiac catheterization films, and other imaging studies. Active participation of residents in training and practicing surgeons from around the world will positively impact the ongoing education of all members of the CTSNet Community. We look forward to your contributions.
All case presentations should be sent to Michael E. Halkos via email or via CD (997 Emory Parc Place, Decatur, GA, 30033) and should include the following:
- Title page: Include full names, highest degree, and institutions of all authors in the order they should appear. Please provide a brief summary of less than 150 words prior to the body of the text.
- Text: Provide a brief pertinent history and case summary, operative course, postoperative results, and conclusions.
- References: Limit to less than 10.
- Please ensure that the text or images do not contain specific patient identifier which cannot be published unless patient confidentiality is ensured.
- Illustrations/video: Because this is a multimedia internet presentation, please provide pertinent illustrations, images, tables, and brief video clips as applicable. Submit images as either jpg or gif files. Videos must meet CTSNet Video Submission Instructions. Images or videos that are embedded in a file, such as a Microsoft Word document, are not acceptable.
- Please do not submit material that has been previously published.
- Include the address, email address, and phone number of the primary author.
- The CTSNet Conditions for Publication must be completed and signed by all authors. Content will not be published until a completed Conditions for Publication form is received by CTSNet.
