TSRA Facebook PageThe mission of the Thoracic Surgery Residents Association (TSRA) is to represent the interests of all residents training in cardiothoracic surgery. To that end, this organization was started by residents and continues to be managed autonomously by residents who are still in training programs. This Facebook page was designed to bring together cardiothoracic surgery residents in training to share and distribute ideas. VIDEO: Orthotopic Heart TransplantationWorldwide, over 3,500 heart transplants are performed annually. This is a lifesaving therapy for suitable candidates with advanced heart failure. This video reviews the steps of a recipient cardiectomy and donor implantation. This book was edited by the TSRA and authored by more than 50 cardiothoracic surgery residents from around the country. The material is organized into four different sections: General Thoracic Surgery; Adult Cardiac Surgery; Congenital Cardiac Surgery; and Cardiothoracic Trauma and Critical Care.
