This retrospective review summarizes a single institution experience with thoracic aortic endovascular stenting in 420 pts over 20 years. Indications were aneurysm (238), dissection (100) and trauma (39). 78% of pts were deemed to be at high risk for open repair. Mortality was 4.8%, stroke incidence was 5%, and cord ischemia was temporary in 7.9%

This retrospective review reports on single-institution results for management of aneurysms involving the entire aorta using a 2-stage elephant trunk technique. 288 pts had only a first stage operation, and 157 pts underwent a complete 2 stage repair. The outcomes of repair of acute type A dissection using aortic valve resuspension and sinus of Valsalva reinforcement were tracked in 489 pts operated 1993-2013. Hospital mortality was 11%. 5-year survival was 69%, and freedom from proximal reoperation was 96% at 5 years.
