The symposium will explore both common and unique applications for adult ECMO including reversible respiratory failure, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary embolism, trauma, sepsis, pregnancy, ECPR, and ECCO2R. Early recognition, implementation and basic management principles will be discussed. In addition, the symposium will cover heart failure and will have a special emphasis on management of heart failure using short term and long term mechanical circulatory assist devices.
