Background

I am currently the Director of Clinical and Quality Outcomes at Providence Anesthesiology Associates in Charlotte, NC where I am responsible for the implementation, oversight, and expansion of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program to include 9 facilities within a hospital system and 17 service lines. I have experience speaking nationally and internationally on various topics of perioperative medicine and implementation for sustainability. I attended Queens University of Charlotte for my BSN and later attended the Medical University of South Carolina for a Masters in Nursing and Doctorate in Nursing Practice, completing my doctoral dissertation on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery for Pancreaticoduodenectomy. I am a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. I worked as a critical care nurse for 15 years before leaving the bedside to pursue my advanced degrees.

Other Interests

My areas of interest outside of ERAS include multi-modal analgesia, opioid-related adverse events, reduction in opioid consumption in the surgical patient, postoperative cognitive disorder and humanitarian work.
