Birmingham Review Course 2024 | Staging the Mediastinum With EBUS [1]

Currently in its 32nd year, the Birmingham Review Course [3] is the longest-running course in the cardiothoracic specialty. The 2025 course promises an immersive learning experience featuring didactic lectures and interactive seminars on cardiac and thoracic topics, along with opportunities to engage with an international faculty. The 2025 Birmingham Review Course will take place from September 11–13, 2025.
At the 2024 Birmingham Review Course, a presentation on “Staging the Mediastinum With EBUS” was delivered. This discussion focused on the importance of definitively staging the mediastinum, the subdivision of nodal stages, and the pros and cons of endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). Numerous studies and their findings were reviewed, and the presentation also explored whether rapid on-stage evaluation should be utilized.
