15th International Symposium on Sympathetic Surgery [1]
The 15th international Society of Sympathetic Surgery symposium is geared to surgeons, dermatologists, internists, researchers and other medical professionals to enhance the understanding of disorders related to the sympathetic nervous system.
The meeting venue is the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, a beautiful setting on the banks of the Hudson River Valley 80 miles north of Manhattan.
Objectives include to : understand the relative anatomy and physiology of the sympathetic nervous system, learn the most common clinical disorders that present in practice, identify standard methods for describing the severity of these disorders, describe the anatomical basis for surgical and interventional treatments using a recognized format for reliable anatomic descriptions, recognize the risks and benefits of proposed methods of treatment and side effects, understand the basic principles for treating hyperhidrosis by primary care physicians including topical and oral pharmacologic agents, recognize the timing for referral to dermatologists and other interventionalists.
