This clinical case describes the successful treatment of severe aortic stenosis in a patient whose aortic anatomy precluded the traditional TAo approach. A 10mm Dacron graft was anastomosed end-to-side to provide adequate distance between the aortic annulus and the sheath insertion site.

The operating surgeons report an elderly female patient with a 7 cm ascending aorta aneurysm. The operating surgeons used a simple Dacron sleeve technique that avoided circulatory arrest and shortened the cross clamp and cardiopulmonary support time. Moreover, the single aortic suture line decreased the haemostasis problem.

The authors present a case of a 63-year-old female who developed a large inferior aneurysm following late presentation of myocardial infarction. This rare presentation is discussed with specific regard to imaging and surgical intervention. This patient demonstrates that not all pseudoaneurysms rupture rapidly.

Hybrid aortic procedures have the potential to reduce morbidity and mortality in patients that may not be reasonable candidates for a traditional open operation. This article examines a hybrid procedure performed on a 60-year-old male who had received four previous open-heart operations and who had numerous co-morbidities.

The number of ports used in minimally invasive cardiac surgery can be reduced to one with the assistance of the latest technologies and a custom-made instrument. The authors demonstrate a novel single incision technique, where no other ports for instruments and no small incision for femoral cannulation is required.

The superior cavopulmonary anastomosis is the first of two operations used in a staged Fontan approach for definitive palliation of functionally single ventricle hearts.
