This video shows newer techniques of aortic valve repair: commissural annuloplasty; central plication for prolapse; leaflet pericardial augmentation; and ultrasonic calcium debridement. Five cases are shown, over the spectrum of valve pathologies. Greater use of aortic valve repair seems indicated.

Through a port-access incision, this video demonstrates a technique for placing an echocardiographically pre-measured chordae system to properly suspend the whole of the prolapsed anterior leaflet to its normal level of coaptation.

Damiano is a pioneer in the area of minimally invasive cardiac surgery. His developmental work on robotically assisted microsurgery for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) earned him a ComputerWorld Smithsonian Award in June 1997. Damiano performed the first robotically assisted CABG procedure in North America in December 1998.
