Adult Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis: Modified Three-Patch Aortic Root Reconstruction

Tuesday, April 2, 2019

Brinster D, Hemli J. Adult Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis: Modified Three Patch Aortic Root Reconstruction. April 2019. doi:10.25373/ctsnet.7895753.

Supravalvular aortic stenosis is usually diagnosed and corrected in childhood. An adult patient with Williams syndrome presented with shortness of breath and was found to have severe supravalvular aortic stenosis and significant stenosis of the left anterior descending artery from a myocardial bridge. In this video, the authors detail the surgical technique for correction of this patient’s supravalvular stenosis: a modified three-patch aortic root reconstruction.

Comments

Thank you for posting this very nice video . I have 2 questions: 1- What video recording system did you use? 2- You placed the smooth surface of most of the pericardial patches outside, was this intentional? Thanks again . Khanh Nguyen, MD. Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, Valhalla, NY.
