Opportunities

The CTSNet Editorial Board is comprised of up to seven (7) Senior Editors who are subject matter experts in the following domains: Cardiac, Thoracic, Congenital, Clinical Care Professionals, Education, Residents & Training, Global Health. The Editorial Board meets monthly with the CTSNet Editor in Chief and staff to discuss project ideation, project status, content generation, and review status. Senior Editors serve one-year terms with an option to renew for another year up to two (2) times.

Associate Editors are part of the CTSNet Editorial Review Committee, which is comprised of four (4) Cardiac, two (2) Thoracic, and two (2) Congenital Associate Editors whose roles are to peer review all CTSNet clinical video submissions in their specific subspecialties. In general, reviews ensure that clinical videos are factually correct, meet appropriate surgical standards of care, contribute to the CT surgery body of knowledge in some way, include narration and a written description or summary of the featured surgery that is distinct from the video narration, and do not violate US and international patient privacy standards. Associate Editors also suggest revisions as needed. Associate Editors serve
one-year renewable terms with no limit on number of terms that can be served.

The JANS Editor team is comprised of up to eight (8) early career professionals, trainees and/or medical students who routinely identify and submit relevant CT journal and news articles for curating on CTSNet.org and distribution via the weekly JANS enewsletter. JANS Editors serve one-year renewable terms with no limit on number of terms that can be served. A limited number of top contributing JANS Editors who meet all submission criteria are eligible for a modest educational grant each year.

CTSNet welcomes clinical video, article, event, and comment submissions from cardiothoracic surgeons, residents and trainees, clinical care professionals, and medical students from anywhere in the world. Annual Competition opportunities include the CTSNet Resident, Innovation and Instructional Video Competitions. Top Contributors and Commentors are awarded bronze-, silver-, and gold-level badges to highlight their contribution levels. All submissions to CTSNet undergo review prior to publication.
