ASAIO 2025 | ECMO as a Bridge to Pediatric Heart Transplantation: A Comparison of Two ERAS

At the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO) 2025 Annual Conference, Zaid Abu-Mowis, a medical student at the University of Florida College of Medicine, presented on “Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation as a Bridge to Pediatric Heart Transplantation: A Comparison of Two ERAS.”  

Abu-Mowis outlined the study’s objective, methodologies employed, and the trend analysis findings. He delved into the demographic characteristics of both waitlisted patients and transplanted patients, as well as the Kaplan-Meier analysis of waitlisted patients and transplanted patients. Furthermore, he addressed the postoperative outcomes and the limitations of this study.
