Guest Editor Series: Insights Into Pediatric Mechanical Circulatory Support

Monday, July 28, 2025

In this CTSNet Guest Editor Series, Insights Into Pediatric Mechanical Circulatory Support, congenital and pediatric surgeon Sandeep Sainathan invited accomplished pediatric surgeons from around the world to contribute clinical videos on the surgical aspects of pediatric mechanical circulatory support as a bridge to cardiac transplantation or recovery of cardiac function.

The clinical videos featured in this six-part series highlight techniques for prolonged pediatric mechanical circulatory support for a variety of conditions with a variety of devices. While some of these devices have FDA approval for use in the pediatric population, others have been utilized with off-label indications. New videos will be released from August 11–15, 2025.

The series concludes with a live webinar discussion on August 18, 2025. The webinar features Professor Sainathan and his esteemed colleagues providing technical tips and nuances to achieve the much-desired goal of uneventful extended circulatory support until cardiac recovery or transplantation.
