This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials comparing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) in low- to intermediate- surgical risk patients, with a primary outcome of five-year all-cause mortality. The results indicated that TAVR was associated with a clinically significant increase in all-cause mortality and a higher risk of stroke compared to SAVR at the five-year follow-up.
