Hani N. Mufti, MD, MHI, SLP, CIP, FRCSC
BACKGROUND
Dr. Hani N. Mufti is a Consultant Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh, where he has served since May 2026. He specializes in the surgical management of complex congenital heart disease in neonates, children, and adults.
Before joining KFSH&RC, Dr. Mufti served as section head of cardiac surgery and as an adult and congenital cardiac surgeon at King Faisal Cardiac Center, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Jeddah. He also held academic appointments at the College of Medicine, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, progressing from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery.
Dr. Mufti completed his fellowship in Congenital Cardiac Surgery at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, following his Cardiac Surgery Residency at Dalhousie University in Canada. He received his medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and completed his early surgical training at King Khalid National Guard Hospital.
His professional interests include complex congenital cardiac surgery, adult congenital heart disease, mechanical circulatory support, clinical outcomes research, surgical education, healthcare data science, and digital innovation.
