Surgeon - Cardiothoracic
Itabachi Chuo Medical Center

I am leading the development of a comprehensive cardiovascular center.

As a cardiac surgeon specializing in structural heart disease, my practice encompasses minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS), valvular heart disease, coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracic aortic surgery, and transcatheter therapies. I also serve as a TAVI proctor, physician trainer, and instructor, actively involved in physician education, case proctoring, and the dissemination of transcatheter valve therapies.

My clinical philosophy is to integrate surgical and catheter-based interventions through a multidisciplinary Heart Team approach, providing individualized lifetime management for patients with cardiovascular disease. Alongside clinical practice, I am committed to surgical education, innovation, and international collaboration.

I have a particular interest in bridging conventional cardiac surgery and structural heart interventions to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care.

My research focuses on optimizing lifetime management for patients with cardiovascular disease by integrating surgical and transcatheter therapies.

Current research interests include:

  • Minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS)
  • Structural heart disease and transcatheter valve interventions (TAVI)
  • Lifetime management of aortic valve disease
  • Rapid-deployment and sutureless aortic valve prostheses
  • Prosthesis sizing and leaflet twisting deformation
  • Complex thoracic aortic surgery
  • Clinical outcomes research and surgical education
