Zara Shirazi, MBBS, FCPS (Cardiac Surgery), Fellow Congenital and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery NUHCS Singapore
BACKGROUND
I am an FCPS-qualified Cardiac Surgeon from Pakistan and currently a Clinical Fellow in Congenital and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the National University Heart Centre Singapore (NUHCS). I completed my cardiothoracic surgical training at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Karachi, one of South Asia’s highest-volume cardiac surgery centres. My training has focused on congenital and pediatric cardiac surgery, complemented by international fellowships and observerships at the Medical University of Vienna and Boston Children’s Hospital through the AATS Foundation.
OTHER INTERESTS
Beyond my clinical and academic pursuits, I am an accomplished vocalist and a multiple Gold Medal recipient in singing competitions. I believe that music fosters creativity, resilience, and balance, qualities that complement a career in cardiothoracic surgery. I also enjoy mentorship, medical writing, and international academic collaboration.
