At the 2025 STS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Senior Editor Dr. Emily Farkas spoke with Dr. Marcelo Cardarelli about the costs of cardiac surgery around the world. They discussed highlights from his presentation at the STS meeting, the difference between cost and price, and why cost is different around the world. They also examined how to tackle this issue and provided advice for surgeons who are traveling to other countries to perform cardiothoracic surgery.
