At the Transcatheter Heart Valves Greece 2024 conference, leading surgeons delivered presentations on various aspects of TAVI. Michael Borger addressed “The Crucial Role for Surgeons in TAVI,” reviewing the heart team concept and TAVI implantation rates. V. Androutsopoulou focused on “Failed Bioprosthetic Aortic Valve: Reoperation vs TAVI,” exploring sutureless biological aortic valve replacement and valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Teoman Kilic presented “Aortic Valve Stenosis Treatment Options in Young and Low-Risk Patients,” highlighting the lessons learned from old generation devices and the risk scoring system for TAVI. Gregory Pattakos discussed “TAVI or SAVR for the Small Aortic Annulus,” examining aortic root enlargement and implications for future valve-in-valve procedure.
