Dr Lima is a thoracic surgeon with interest in minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques for the diagnosis, treatment, staging and palliative care of thoracic cancers.
He completed his medical degree at Petrópolis Medical School, general surgery residency at Alcides Carneiro Hospital and thoracic surgery residency at Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He then went on to complete a minimally invasive thoracic surgery fellowship at the Institut de Cardiologie et Pneumologie de Québec (IUCPQ) as well as an advanced interventional endoscopy, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, oesophageal surgery and robotic surgery fellowship at Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montreal (CHUM).
Dr Lima is now beginning his career as a practicing thoracic surgeon and researcher at the CIUSS du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean in Québec, Canada.
