Wednesday, March 13, 2024

At the 2024 STS Annual Meeting, CTSNet Editor in Chief Joel Dunning and CTSNet senior editors set out to interview the most knowledgeable CT surgeons from around the world. Stay tuned for more interviews from the meeting.

CTSNet Editor in Chief Joel Dunning spoke with Professor Shanda Blackmon about her new book, The Support Group: Connection, Hope, and Healing for Patients and Providers. The book details her career as a thoracic surgeon, beginning with one of her earliest cases, and the mistakes and triumphs she has had along the way. Ultimately, the book emphasizes the importance of the esophagectomy support group Prof. Blackmon formed early in her career and how it has affected her practice.
