Fundamentals in Valvular Heart Disease inc. Atrial Fibrillation is a comprehensive Level 1 course for Residents approaching the EBCTS exam covering all aspects of valvular heart disease and surgical management of atrial fibrillation. The lectures cover the fundamentals of pre-operative investigations, natural history and operative techniques necessary for the decision-making and treatment of patients. The interactive sessions involve multidisciplinary discussion of cases to apply the theoretical knowledge in real world situations. Wetlab sessions allow delegates to perform valve replacement, repair and Cox Maze 4 lesion sets.
