In this video, an expert panel discusses the use of ECMO in the treatment of adult pulmonary failure. Marcus Williams presents the case history of a 42-year-old patient who was placed on ECMO after an acute lung injury that resulted in increasingly difficult oxygenation and worsening hypotension. Thomas Wozniak and Joseph Zwischenberger weigh in on the case and share ECMO tips and techniques.

…but why does this patient have sternal wires on the last chest xray? I did not hear that part of the story…
Can anyone explay that?
In the discussion part of the presentation the authors stated that the patient developed a trachea-innominate artery fistula and they had to repair it surgically.
