This video demonstrates the steps of an acute type A aortic dissection repair. The authors used a stented E-vita graft to replace the descending aorta and the arch. An aortic homograft was used to replace the aortic root and valve.

Very nice video. Your root replacement material looks like a porcine xenograft, not an homograft. Its that ok?

You are quite right – it is not a homograft but is a Freestyle Aortic Root (Porcine Xenograft). Thank you for your comment.

1. How old is the patient? What was the main reason that you used a Freestyle instead a Bentall de Bono procedure?, and What were the measures on the preoperative CT scan?
2. Did you consider at the beginning use a Thoraflex prosthesis too?
