Prof. Tristan you have done an excellent brief history of aortic surgery.
It may not seem so important, but it provides a good overview of thoracic aortic endoprosthesis. The most frequently cited article, “A Case of Distant Transfemoral Endoprosthesis of the Thoracic Artery Using a Self-Fixing Synthetic Prosthesis in Traumatic Aneurysm,” was published by Volodos in 1988 in Grudnaia Khirurgiia; the article is only cited in Russian.
