  • March 1, 2018

By: John Butler

Keywords:

  • Coronary Artery

Miles Behan of the Edinburgh Heart Centre in Scotland, UK, discusses fractional flow reserve (FFR) prior to cardiac surgery. He focuses on the role of FFR in guiding grafting decisions for patients with multivessel disease and patients who have aortic stenosis and coronary disease.

This presentation was originally given during the SCTS Ionescu University program at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland. Totally agree with the strategy for intermediate lesions of CAD. Angina in AS and CAD may be due to either. Good policy to do PCI if FFR is less than .8 and then follow up the patient of Moderate AS for a later TAVI/ SAVR.
