To begin, Dr. Danny Ramzy, Chief of Cardiac Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and Medical and Surgical Director for the Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, Houston, TX, USA, delivered a presentation on “Robotic Implantation of a New Mitral Tissue Valve.” He discussed robotic mitral replacement, implants, and the benefits of a cinching mechanism, illustrating his points with a clinical case.
Next, Dr. Sudish Murthy, Section Head of General Thoracic Surgery and the Surgical Director of the Center of Major Airway Disease at Cleveland Clinic, OH, USA, presented on “Carinal Resection.” He discussed main histopathologies, the veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) circuit, and case examples, including their postoperative course.
Then, Nguyen Hoang Dinh, Deputy Director of the University Medical Center (UMC) and an Associate Professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, spoke about the “Totally Endoscopic AVR UMC Experience,” where he provided clinical vignette and shared early outcomes.
Finally, Dr. Inderpal S. Sarkaria, Professor and Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA, delivered a presentation on “Total Robotic Resection of Superior Sulcus (Pancoast) Tumor,” featuring a case study and surgical footage.
