This session features leading surgeons discussing various aspects of aortic stenosis at the Transcatheter Heart Valves Greece (THVGreece) 2026 conference.
Please note that all presentations are delivered in Greek.
The first presentation, “Moderate AS + EF 35%: Intervene or Observe?” was delivered by Dr. Dimitris Tziakas, an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. Dr. Christina Chrysohoou, an Assistant Professor of Cardiology-Heart Failure at The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, provided comments.
Next, Dr. Apostolos Zacharoulis from the Department of Cardiology at Athens General Hospital “G. Gennimatas” presented on “Low-Flow Low-Gradient AS with discordant Echo & CT,” with comments from panelist Dr. Argyris Krommydas, a consultant cardiologist, Director of the Adult Cardiac Ultrasound Department, and Clinical Lead of the Echocardiography Department at Mitera Hospital, Greece.
The third presentation, “Severe AS, Minimal Symptoms, High Calcium,” was given by Dr. Antonios Mastrokostopoulos, an interventional cardiologist at the 1st Department of Cardiology at Athens Naval Hospital, Greece. Panelist Dr. Kostas Perreas, Director of the 1st Department of Cardiac Surgery and consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Greece, provided feedback.
The final presentation, “The 88-Year-old Patient: Benefit or Futility?” was presented by Dr. Angelos Rigopoulos, a consultant cardiologist at the 2nd Cardiology Department of the University of Athens at Attikon University Hospital, Greece. Panelist Dr. Maria Kalliopi Konstantinidou, a cardiothoracic surgeon at Hygeia Hospital, Greece, offered her insights.
In May 2026, The Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center of Athens Hygeia organized the Transcatheter Heart Valves Greece 2026. The conference features pivotal specialty insights from both local faculty and internationally renowned professionals. Watch for more THVGreece 2026 videos in the coming weeks.
