This session features leading surgeons discussing various aspects of the aortic valve at the Transcatheter Heart Valves Greece (THVGreece) 2026 conference.

The first presentation, “Failed TAVI Referred for SAVR” was delivered by Dr. Apostolos Roubelakis, Director of the 3rd Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Athens Medical Center, Greece. Dr. Emmanouil Poulidakis, a consultant interventional cardiologist at Hygeia Hospital, Athens, Greece, provided comments.
Next, Dr. Dimitrios Avgerinos, Deputy Director of Cardiac Surgery at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Greece presented on “TAVI Explantation: When and How?” with comments from panelist Dr. Leonidas Poulimenos, an interventional cardiologist and Head of the Cardiology Department at “Asklepeion” General Hospital, Voula, Greece.
The third presentation, “Rising Gradients After TAVI: Redo-TAVI or Surgery?” was given by Dr. Adam Taleb, an interventional cardiologist at Athens Medical Group, Greece. Panelist Dr. Paraskevi Koutrolou, cardiology consultant and echocardiographer at the 3rd Cardiology Department at Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece, provided feedback.
The final presentation, “Post-TAVI Endocarditis” was presented by Dr. Dimitrios Iliopoulos, Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Director of the 4th Department of Cardiac Surgery at Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece. Panelist Dr. Elias Tsougkos, a cardiologist and the Director of the 6th Cardiology Clinic at Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece, offered her insights.
