At the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland Annual Meeting, Dr. Martin Czerny, professor and chairman at University Heart Center Freilburg Bad Krozingen, Germany, delivered a presentation on “Future of Aortic Prosthetics—Biologic and Synthetic Options.” He addressed topics such as the history of aortic repair, the development of graft materials, biological materials, and the future of graft coating. Dr. Czerny also explored the impact of arterial stiffness, regional differences in aortic compliance, and the impact of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) on the heart.
