Mid and Distal Arch Aneurysm Treatment: Optimal Strategy, Surgical Approach, and Outcome

Endovascular approaches have become the first-line therapy for descending thoracic aneurysms. Due to the variable histologic, anatomic, and clinical presentations of mid and distal arch aneurysms, careful consideration must be given to available treatment options. A panel of experts met at the 2016 EACTS Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, to discuss the endovascular approach, including patient selection, surgical technique, and secondary open repair.
