Glutaraldehyde-fixed autologous pericardium is a useful substitute for aortic valve leaflets, since it rarely calcifies or retracts. Recent studies of aortic valve geometry have provided better models for aortic leaflet design. In this video, complete autologous pericardial leaflet replacement is illustrated for both bicuspid and tri-leaflet valves. This operation has been associated with very low valve-related complications, and qualifies as a reparative autologous procedure. Perhaps enough follow-up information is available at present to consider this option for selected younger patients with irreparable leaflets and relative contraindications to Coumadin.

I think the only limitation is the method of tailoring the pericardial patch.
Please refer to my method of determination of the aortic valve parameters (published in JThCVS; 2000, 119: 386 – 387) for its total autologous reconstruction.
I think my method is very simple, precise and reproducible. There is no need of any templates or devices.
