This video demonstrates a step-by-step technique for percutaneous and open femoral cannulation for peripheral cardiopulmonary bypass. Femoral cannulation is the authors’ preferred platform for cardiopulmonary bypass when performing minimally invasive cardiac operations. The authors hope to highlight useful tips and methods to avoid common pitfalls for others who are interested in adding these methods to their armamentarium in order to safely perform minimally invasive cardiac operations.

It´s a very nice video, thanks for sharing, if you allow me to add I belive that it´s important in the open technique the use of vessel loops in the vases for the hemostatic control, and two points before in the angles of the cut for the reparation after. Another item is the perfusion of the femoral distal, you can supply that only using one introductor catheter from the conector of the arterial canula to the distal femoral artery.
