Stephen Westaby reflects on his extraordinary career in cardiac surgery in an interview with Leanne Harling, which was filmed at the 2015 EACTS Annual Meeting in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Professor Westaby discusses his early interest in cardiac surgery and his pursuit of innovative treatments, including the artificial heart. He urges young cardiac surgeons to value innovation over outcomes, and to continue pushing the specialty forward.

    I had the honor to make with him the First live conference in Oxford in 1996 were i used for the first time in the world and stabilizer to perform and OPCABG
    This conference was an Historical step in coronary surgery
