In this analysis of 1,156 patients from the Nordic Consortium for Acute Type A Aortic Dissection (NORCAAD-2) across seven Swedish centers, younger patients presented with more extensive dissections, including higher rates of DeBakey type 1, and more complex surgery involving aortic root, valve, and arch replacement. However, they had less malperfusion (lower Penn Class B/C/BC) even after adjustment for established risk factors. These findings suggest distinct age-related disease phenotypes that may inform surgical strategy and risk assessment.
