Michael Bemelman of the University Medical Center Utrecht, Netherlands, discusses the resurgence of rib fixation surgery. Dr. Bemelman details the history and evolving techniques of rib fixation surgery, from early traction methods that utilized common items such as clothes hangers, to modern minimally invasive approaches with specialized instruments.
